Sealants
Professional sealants have to meet a wide range of chemical, mechanical or thermal demands. The appropriate product has to be chosen to perfectly suit all kind of demands and fields of application.
Commonly used products are one-component and two-component sealants.
1-component sealants
1-component sealants are ready-to-use sealing compounds, reacting under different conditions such as: heat, moisture or the removal of solvents.
2-component sealants
2-component sealants are composed of two reacting agents, which have to be mixed before application in order to reach their final state after a chemical reaction. 2-component sealants are available in various mixing proportions and containers. They are most commonly delivered in two cans or double-cartridges for separate storage before use.
They can easily be mixed by using an appropriate container and a stirring/mixing tool.
Double-cartridges contain both components which will be mixed perfectly by the static mixer screwed on top of the cartridge. Both compounds will be mixed in the right proportions by pressing the cartridge plunger.
Major advantages of 2-component sealants are enhanced technical properties and enormous time-savings. |
